Ok this is not officially finalized as we are still looking at venues and equipment.

Generally a LAN party in Australia is held on the middle weekend of the school holidays but Easter falls on that weekend of these holidays so we wont be able to hold it on that date however we will have to hold it on either the first Saturday of the school holidays (4th April 2009) or the last Saturday of the school holidays (18th April 2009).
As other news states we have 2 game servers so we wont have people having disagreements on who should host the game using up there system resources.

Entry fee: $10 Yes we will have a entry fee. a) the venue dose cost money to hire. b) the servers cost money to buy. c) the network equipment costs money to buy. that is before the time and dedication we put into hosting this event for free.
Please taking these hundreds of dollars it cost us to setup into consideration when thinking $15 is to much.
(Note: any profit made will be kept aside for future upgrades of equipment and possible prizes in the future)

Date: Not 100% confirmed.
4th - 5th of April, Start Saturday 12pm (Noon). Finish Sunday 12 (Noon)
or 18th - 19th April, Start Saturday 12pm (Noon) Finish Sunday 12 (Noon)

Venue: Unknown

What to bring:
PC: pair of headphones(no speakers), non-surge protected power board, 1x pc, ONE! Computer Screen.

What you are provided:
Each ticket: 1 power slot, 1 port on the switch, half a table of room

EDIT: Price dropped to $10 as my over heads are cheaper that fist estimated even tho iv just spent over $500 on network gear but i also have other needs for that.

One screen because I got not a lot of desk space but i am being pretty hypocritical in saying that because ill probably drag my second screen there.

It is a definite go ahead now I just got to get a estimate of numbers to see if i should set up this second room or not, but at LANs iv attended in the past people don't tend to register till the last min so i guess ill see what happens.

(NOTE: There is a line missing in the top room as it is divided into 2 i will fix that now :))

Also here is a floor plan of the place the LANing action will happen, there are male and female toilets in the building and i should organize a communal fridge of some sort and see about possibly a microwave.

There is a subway and Chinese restaurant with in literally a stones trow away and a fish and chips shop about 400m down the road and a chicken treat about 600m away on the highway (but they suck)

hmm is thing planned to be in kal? even if it isnt wouldnt mind coming..if i can get time of work =] might be a good time to test out ma pc havent really used it since i put the RAID0 and extra GTS250 in her....

ill be keeping a eye on this....o you say one screen...can i bring my 40" or do i have to stick with my 24"??

I think that you would be able to take your 40" but I don't think it will fit on Half a table so you might want to stick to the 24" just a sugestion (unless you want to buy 2 tickets) :lol:
